oxy git import takes one branch into a new repository. Importing a whole Git repository, every branch as a bookmark, took a script on 2026-10-26 (tetriblox, 158 branches).

What worked:

  1. Import main.
  2. For each other branch: oxy bookmark create NAME <root change>, oxy bookmark switch NAME, oxy git fetch GIT_DIR --branch NAME, push the bookmark.

Imports are deterministic: shared Git commits get the same change hashes. So each branch's history after the first costs only its own commits, about 2 s a branch.

What the separate-import route hits: each oxy git import makes a new repository id, so a second branch imported on its own cannot be pushed to the first one's hub repository ("repository IDs differ").

Ask: oxy git import --all-branches GIT_DIR DEST (and maybe --branches GLOB): the default branch as main, every other branch as a bookmark of the same name. Names bookmarks refuse are mapped and listed. Same deterministic hashes; one repository id.
