Andy, 2026-10-29: oxy pull takes a long time now on a repository like tetriblox (many heads, long history), and it needs to be much faster.

To do first: measure where the time goes on Earth with OXY_TIMINGS on a fresh clone of tetriblox and on a checkout a few changes behind (negotiation, object transfer, apply/working-copy update, head count). Then fix the largest cost and verify each change against those numbers, as the import benchmarks are.
