Done: B1 shipped in 0.4.0 (the object store on any Store), B2 in 0.4.1 (oxy init --store on dir, S3, GCS or Azure behind strata::CachingStore, with handed-over credentials), and bucket repositories were made fast in 0.4.4, 0.5.0 and 0.6.0 (issue #116). Keyless access for bucket repositories carries on in oxygenhub#122.

Plan B from the Strata discussion (2026-10-04): a repository's object storage can be a bucket, with a local cache, so the hub is stateless and the data lives where its owner chooses.
B1: Repo opens over the Store trait (strata.rs): packs and indexes as write-once objects read by range, loose objects write-once, references by compare-and-swap. The local case keeps today's layout and speed. The whole oxy-core suite runs over a MemoryStore as well as the local store.
B2: a caching Store: a local store in front of a bucket, write-through and read-through, size-bounded, refs always read from the bucket. Measured against the real S3/GCS/Azure buckets on Earth.
The bucket layout changes from bundles to packs before 1.0; nothing is kept compatible. Refs issue #63.
