Guest /dev/fd links and FLOW_* job variables issue #7 closed: completed andymccall opened this · 1 comment

Two problems from metalgear's feedback:

  • Item 15: the guest has no /dev/fd, so bash process substitution (<(…)) fails. The job still passed, with wrong output.
  • Item 17: a job cannot tell what it is building. There is no state, heads, bookmark or run in its environment, so version strings read UNKNOWN in CI.

Add the usual /dev links in flow-init, and FLOW_* variables from the claim.

Both were done and are live: a probe job on Earth's runner printed through bash process substitution, /dev/fd -> /proc/self/fd and /dev/stdout -> /proc/self/fd/1 exist, and FLOW_JOB/FLOW_RUN (with FLOW_REPO, FLOW_STATE, FLOW_HEADS, FLOW_BOOKMARK from a hub claim) are set.
