Andy (2026-10-27), on doomsdayone/tetriblox: Settings accepted develop as the default bookmark though the repository has no develop (its Git import never had one), and the repository's pages then gave a 404 saying "develop" is not a change. There is also no way to make develop on the web, so no proposal can target it.

• Settings refuse a new default that is not a bookmark of the repository (an empty repository may still name any, for its first push), and say which ones exist.
• A missing default (set before, or deleted since) leaves the overview showing main, or the first bookmark, with a note saying so, not an empty repository.
• The message for an unknown name says "is not a bookmark, tag or change of this repository".
• Bookmarks › New bookmark makes one from a bookmark, tag or change: as the user's delegate where they have one, otherwise unsigned where no trust policy asks for more, like a push.
